One of H.P. Blavatsky's tasks was to make public the hitherto secret knowledge about the origin of the cosmos and the evolution of man. Her task was also to substantiate this knowledge, both with religious and mythological sources from the ancient world of traditions, and with the latest scientific discoveries. An immense task that she completed with the publication of The Secret Doctrine in 1888. In the same year she founded the Esoteric School.
