The Renaissance brought about a renewal of the worldview. During this period, Western science experienced tremendous impulse. Great thinkers such as Ficino, Paracelsus, Giordano Bruno, Spinoza, Descartes, and Christiaan Huygens laid a foundation upon which today's science continues to build. These scientific giants did not acquire their knowledge on their own. A direct line can be traced back to Pythagoras, Euclid, Plato, and the Neoplatonists. But they too, drew upon a deeper source of knowledge: Theosophy, or Universal Wisdom, which goes back to the dawn of time.
